SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) women wing chief in Sukkur Shaista Khoso on Thursday announced her decision to quit the party in sheer disappointment and indignation over the issue of awarding party tickets in her area.

She criticised the party’s local leadership and selection board for their “dishonest” conduct, saying that they demonstrated favouritism due to which those old workers who deserved party tickets for their sacrifices and proven loyalty stood deprived of their right.

“It’s clear deviation from the spirit, philosophy, vision and mission of the party as propagated by [PPP found chairman] Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his great politician daughter Benazir Bhutto,” she said.

Ms Khoso said she was saddened and frustrated by the “absolutely unfair awarding of party tickets here” and that’s why she had to part ways with the party.

She said she would remain with the victims of this unfair treatment and sit with them soon to decide a political future.
