Judges pay surprise visit to Larkana hospitals, summon doctors to court

LARKANA: The Sindh High Court has summoned the medical superintendent (MS) of Children Hospital of Chandka Medical College (CHMC) and other doctors on Thursday over unhygienic condition of the children’s health facility and Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women.

They were summoned after SHC judges Aftab Ahmed Gorar and Khadim Hussain Tunio and Larkana district and sessions Judge Abdul Naeem Memon paid a surprise visit to the two hospitals and expressed dissatisfaction over poor hygienic condition and lack of supply of medicines to patients.

They took round of the indoor wards and visited the operation theatre of the women’s hospital and the wards of the children’s hospital where MS Dr Ali Gohar Dahri, faculty of surgery dean Prof Dr Rafia Baloch and duty doctors in paediatrics unit briefed the judges on the overall situation.

They also visited the autoclave room, store [medicines] and other areas.

Patients and their relatives had reportedly complained about provision of medicines.

The MS and doctors concerned were asked to appear in the court along with the relevant documents on Thursday.
