ISLAMABAD: Lahore district has the highest number of voters (5.39 million) whereas the lowest number of 39,753 voters are registered in Sherani district of Balochistan.

The district-wise voters data released by the Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday show that Balochistan’s Harnai district has 39,787 voters and Washuk has 53,156 voters.

Of the 32 districts in Balochistan, there are 16 districts with less than 100,000 registered voters.

Quetta has the highest number of 683,957 registered voters in the province, followed by Pishin with 254,370 voters and Killa Abdullah with 232,613 voters.

In Sindh, the highest 1.86m voters are registered in Karachi Central, followed by 1.66m in Karachi West and 1.43m in Karachi East. Larkana has 703,255 voters and Shaheed Benazirabad has 775,613 voters.

The lowest number of 274,941 voters are in Tando Mohammad Khan, 342,906 in Matiari and 348,864 in Sajawal.

Eight districts of Punjab have more than 2m registered voters ­— Faisalabad (4.47m voters), Rawalpindi (3.12m voters), Gujranwala (2.77m voters), Multan (2.55m voters), Rahim Yar Khan (2.42m voters), Sialkot (2.33m voters), Sargodha (2.28m voters) and Muzaffargarh (2.03m voters).

Of the 36 districts in Punjab, three have the lowest number of voters — Hafizabad (684,447 voters), Chiniot (748,050 voters) and Nankana Sahib (783,220 voters).

Of the 26 districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, only three districts have more than 1m voters — Peshawar (1.69m voters), Mardan (1.23m voters) and Swat (1.19m voters).

Although Fata has been merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Election Commission has listed the number of voters there separately. The highest number of 492,732 voters have been registered in Bajaur, while the lowest 167,206 are in Orakzai.
