TIMERGARA: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Monday said that their party had resolved internal differences and the dissident workers would withdraw their nomination papers in favour of the ticket holders.
He was briefing journalists at the residence of Zahid Khan, the ANP candidate for NA-6, in Odigram after holding meeting with the local leaders of the party.
The ANP was facing serious rifts in Lower Dir as Mukhtiar Khan, the brother of Zahid Khan, had filed nomination papers against the party candidate Malik Mohammad Zeb from PK-13 constituency. The party had suspended his basic membership and issued a show-cause notice to him.
Dissidents to withdraw papers in favour of party candidates
Mr Hoti held talks with Zahid Khan, his brother Ayub Khan, Hussain Shah, Tasleem Jan and others disgruntled party activists. He succeeded to end rift in the party and announced restoration of Mukhtiar Khan’s party membership.
He said that Mukhtiar Khan would withdraw his nomination papers and would fully support Malik Mohammad Zeb.
“It is not 2013 when the ANP leadership was confined to hujras. The situation has changed and ANP will form next government in the province,” claimed Mr Hoti. He demanded of the caretaker government and ECP to post impartial officers to ensure free and fair elections.
JI: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Senator Siraj ul Haq on Monday said that world powers were trying to bring a government of their choice in the country to fulfil their nefarious designs.
Addressing different functions in Munda and Miskini Darra here, he said that politicians had turned politics into business and top leadership of the parties had been investing in it.
The JI chief said that people knew that those, who had nothing before entering politics, owned huge assets. He said that Election Commission of Pakistan should investigate properly the assts declared by politicians.
He said that JI had fielded 112 candidates for provincial assemblies and 86 for National Assembly seats. He said that MMA would soon announce its election candidates and JI would follow all the decisions of the alliance.
