DADU, May 31: The District Nazim Dadu, Malik Asad Sikandar, has regretted that development schemes in the remote areas of the district which were initiated by him six months ago, were stopped by the officials. He said that an enquiry would be launched against officers responsible for it.

Talking with nazims of different UCs of the district at his office after taking over charge of the district nazim here on Tuesday, Malik Asad Sikandar, said that during his absence, corruption had gone up in different departments of the district and pledged to refer such cases to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He regretted that officials of the education department were receiving graft from the candidates vying for the posts of PST,HST and JSTs.

He said that a joint session of the district Council, Dadu and Jamshoro, is summoned for June 11 adding that the budget sessions would be held separately in Jamshoro and Dadu districts and separate budgets would be prepared for both the districts.

He expressed his concern over release of Manchhar water into the River Indus and feared spread of diseases among the people of Kotri, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro and Karachi.

KILLED: One person Ghulam Muhammad Solangi 22, was axed to death allegedly by Ali Asghar and Mehboob Kabooro, while his brother Abdul Qadir was injured on Tuesday. Report said that cause of the clash for the incident was hunting of birds in the Panjo Mail forest.

ARRESTED: Mehar police raided Mangwani link road on Tuesday and arrested an alleged highwayman Altaf Janwari, when he was busy in looting the passengers. A passenger Hafiz Janwari was injured for resisting the bandits.

Police seized a shotgun and 15 cartridges from possession of the accused.
