KOHAT: Differences have deepened in Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal over award of ticket for PK-81 and despite daily meetings of its provincial and central committees the matter could not be decided between the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and Jamaat-i-Islami.

The negotiations were continuing for over a month now after allotment of two of three seats of the provincial assembly and one seat of National Assembly to the JUI-F candidates.

JI is not ready to leave its claim over a single seat of PK-81, Kohat, whereas JUI-F is also adamant to grab it.

The JI wanted the ticket for former MPA Iqbal Din Fana whereas the JUI-F was supporting retired Maj Shadad Khan, chairman of the committee for southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Khaklil told this correspondent.

The member of MMA central board, Prof Ibraheem of JI, also said that they would not let their claim over PK-81 ticket.

Meanwhile, the Peshawar High Court on Wednesday rejected the appeal of Arshad Majeed Khattak of Awami National Party for NA-32 whose papers were rejected for having dual nationality.

The court accepted the appeal of Fayyaz Haideri whose papers were rejected on grounds that he had filed them for PK-80 instead of his constituency of PK-82.
