LODHRAN: The PTI and the PML-N have finalised their candidates in the district.

Shaheed Kanju group has succeeded to mediate between Siddique Baloch and Iqbal Shah who will now contest NA-161 on a PML-N ticket. He had defeated Jahangir Tareen’s son Ali Tareen in a by-poll that was held after his (Tareen’s) disqualification.

Earlier, the PML-N and Kanju group wanted to give party ticket to Siddique Baloch which angered Iqbal Shah and he announced that he would be an independent candidate.

In NA-160 and PP-224, Abdul Rehman Kanju will contest against PTI candidates Akhtar Kanju and Zawar Warraich. In NA-161, Iqbal Shah will contest against PTI’s Mian Shafique Arain.

For PP-225, the PML-N has fielded Jahangir Sultan Bhutta against PTI’s Tahir Hussain Milezai, in PP-226 Shah Muhammad Joya will face Rana Fraz Noon of the PTI. The PTI has fielded Nawab Amanullah and the PML-N Siddique Baloch in PP-227 and Pir Rafiuddin Shah (PML-N) and Nazir Khan Baloch (PTI) are contesting PP-228.

Ayesha Gulalai, chairperson of her own faction of the PTI, is in the run for NA-161.
