KARACHI: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) central leader and Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has said that the MMA would bring about a real change in the general elections of 2018.

He expressed these views while addressing an Ulema Convention at Hakim Said Ground located in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Thursday evening.

Addressing the moot, Siraj-ul-Haq said the masses would hold corrupt rulers accountable on election day and mark the day as “accountability day” for the corrupt rulers.

He also said the corrupt rulers should be arrested and punished, claiming that the masses were with the MMA for the elimination of corruption from the country.

Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said Karachi was an economic hub and ideological lifeline of the country, adding that the MMA would foil the conspiracy being hatched to make the country secular and liberal.

“Identity of the country were personalities like Professor Ghafoor, Shah Ahmed Noorani and Hakim Said,” Siraj-ul-Haq added.

Presenting the party manifesto, Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said the MMA would introduce free education, improvement in tax reforms, adding that it would implement Quranic and Sharia laws in the courts of the country after coming into power.

Others who also spoke included Shah Owais Noorani, Shaikh Mohammad Abu Talib, Asadullah Bhutto, Allama Nasir Abbas, Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, Syed Atiq-ur-Rehman, Maulana Noor-ul-Haq, Maulana Ehsan and Maulana Afzal.
