LAYYAH: PTI chairman Imran Khan has withdrawn tickets for two constituencies.
The PTI has withdrawn ticket from former federal minister for defence production Bahadur Ahmed Khan and awarded it to former PTI MPA Abdul Majeed Khan.
The parliamentary board also did not award the ticket to the recommended candidate for provincial assembly Shahabuddin Khan, a former MPA, and Niaz Ahmed Gujjar who was an aspirant of ticket for PP-282.
Earlier, PP-281 ticket was awarded to Muhammad Akram Samtia who is in the panel of Majeed Khan Niazi. But on Friday the ticket was withdrawn and awarded to Shahabuddin Khan.
The PP-282 ticket has been awarded to Athar Maqbool on the recommendation of Majeed Khan Niazi. Shahabuddin Khan is now contesting on the ticket of the PTI while Bahadur Khan Sehar and Niaz Ahmed Gujjar are contesting independently.
Meanwhile, the district monitor took oath in the conference room of Judicial Complex. District Returning Officer Shaukat Kamal Dar administered the oath.
District Monitor (Deputy Commissioner) Rafaqat Ali said “there is a zero-tolerance policy on the code of conduct of the election commission.”
“We have already ordered the removal of the billboards and panaflexes that violate standards from the whole district,” he said.
The authorities can impose penalty of Rs50,000 on the candidate or the political party for violation of the code of conduct.
