OKARA: The PTI workers have protested award of tickets to the children of Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo for key constituencies.

Sardar Ali Haider Wattoo, Mian Fayyaz Qasim Wattoo and PTI Deepalpur tehsil president (a former provincial ticket-holder) Mian Khalid Mehar along with others attended a protest meeting at the election camp office.

On Thursday, the PTI awarded tickets to PPP central vice president Manzoor Wattoo’s son Khurram Wattoo, a former MNA, for PP-186 (Okara-4), and daughter Rubeena Shaheen Wattoo, also an ex-MNA, for PP-185 (Okara-3). Mr Wattoo himself is contesting NA-144 Okara-4 as an independent candidate.

In the 2013 general election, PML-N’s Mian Moeen Wattoo won the seat but later vacated it. In the by-poll, Khurram Jahangir Wattoo won on the PPP ticket.

In NA-143, PML-N former MPA Raza Ali Gilani had not accepted the ticket over differences with Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan. Rao Ajmal is contesting NA-143 and supporting Syeda Mamnat Mohsin (Jugnu Mohsin) for PP-184.

The PPP central leadership on the demand of Rai Ghulam Mujtaba Kharal had cancelled the party ticket already awarded to Rao Ayazul Karim in PP-190 and gave it to Rai Faisal Mian Khan, son of former PPP MPA Rai Mian Khan Kharal.
