HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) finalised its candidates with an 11th-hour change on one of its two National Assembly seats after hectic deliberations on Friday, which was the last date for withdrawal of candidature.

Until a day before, its candidates were Amir Shafique Sherwani (NA-226 Latifabad), Salahuddin (NA-227 Hyderabad city), Younus Gaddi (PS-64) Nadeem Siddiqui (PS-65), Rashid Khilji (PS-66) and Nasir Qureshi (PS-67).

Later, the party finally awarded a ticket to Sabir Kaimkhani for NA-226 and withdrew Amir Shafique.

With the inclusion of Kaimkhani, MQM-P has come up with two names from its erstwhile PIB faction.

“Rashid Khilji’s choice is not being appreciated by workers,”, said a party insider, adding that banners against him had been erected in the city.
