LAHORE: In its second major reshuffle, the Punjab caretaker government on Saturday changed some 16 officials, 179 assistant commissioners and 96 additional commissioners (revenue, finance and planning and general).

Two officials considered very close to former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif including Punjab Food Authority Director General Noorul Amin Mengal were relieved from Punjab. Mengal was sent to Balochistan.

Former DGPR Shahid Iqbal, a postal service officer also considered to be close to Shahbaz and was given important posts in Punjab, was the second to be sent to the establishment division, Islamabad. Secretary I&C Sarah Aslam was transferred and posted as Secretary Labour . She was given additional charge of the post of Secretary I&C.

Lahore Museum Director Humayun Mazhar was appointed as Punjab Cooperative Board for Liquidation chairman.

Dr Tahir Raza Bokhari was posted as Director General, Religious Affair, Punjab Auqaf Organsiation.

Primary and Secondary Healthcare Special Secretary Faisal Zahoor was changed and directed to report to the S&GAD.

Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department Special Secretary Saqib Manan was changed and asked to report to the S&GAD.

Additional Secretary to Chief Secretary Masood Mukhtar was transferred and posted in place of Mr Saqib Manan. Housing Department Additional Secretary Musarrat Jabeen was transferred and posted as Additional Secretary Admin, S&GAD. OSD Muhammad Iqbal Alitta was posted as Chief Administrator, Health and Education Institutions, Muridke.

These OSDs were given posts. Naveed Shirazi was posted BoR Secretary, Shozeb Saeed Deputy Secretary/PSO to the chief minister, Saira Omar as Additional Secretary (Development) Specialised Healthcare Department, Saif Anwar Jappa as Rawalpindi Parks and Horticulture director general, Zahid Sohail as joint registrar, Cooperative Societies, Muhammad Iqbal as Law Department additional secretary. Out of the 96 additional commissioners, 41 were revenue, 23 general and 22 finance and planning.
