CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has vowed to strive hard for the rights of Pakhtuns so as to ensure their progress and development.

Addressing a public meeting in Abazai union council here on Saturday, he said that QWP would leave no stone unturned to address Pakhtun’s grievances.

He claimed that the QWP had emerged as the lone voice for the rights of the oppressed people, that’s why prominent political workers were joining it.

Mr Sherpao said the revolutionary and pragmatic manifesto of the party was aimed at ameliorating the suffering of the people. He expressed concern over the unannounced and excessive power loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which had brought the socio-economic activity to a halt. He said ending the menace of loadshedding was not possible unless the whole system of distribution and transmission was overhauled.

He said KP was producer of the cheaper hydel electricity but it was deprived of its benefits. He insisted that due to lack of political vision the incompetent leadership of PTI had left the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in untold troubles.

The QWP leader said the time had come that the people of KP chose wise and sincere leadership through their vote who could address their problems.

He said the QWP would not compromise on the controversial issue of Kalabagh Dam.

He said holding of free and fair election was crucial for strengthening democracy and the country’s development.
