Maryam Nawaz has spoken and, according to her, the much-discussed 'khalai makhlooq' are apparently contesting the elections on the 'jeep' symbol.

The fantastical imagery which the statement evokes aside, the statement seems to be message to recent deserters from the PML-N's ranks, who have ditched the 'tiger' (shair) for the 'jeep' symbol to contest the election as independents.

(On the last day of symbol allotment, seven candidates in Dera Ghazi Khan who were allotted tickets by the PML-N had left the party, most of them opting for the jeep symbol.)

The most prominent ex PML-N leader contesting the election on the 'jeep' symbol is Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. As you may know, there's no love lost between Nawaz Sharif's daughter and (once) closest confidante: let's just hope Nisar resists the urge for yet another press conference to respond to Maryam.
