MARDAN: The students of Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College, Swabi, clinched all the top three positions in the Secondary School Certificate annual examinations-2018, as the result was announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, here on Wednesday.
According to the board’s announcment, Mohammad Haris Shahzad secured the first position by obtaining 1,062 marks, Mohammad Aman second position with 1,060 marks and Wajahat Usman third spot with 1,059 marks. All of them belonged to the same educational institution of Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College, Swabi, and got the distinction in science group.
In humanities group, Alishba and Shehla jointly obtained the first position with 957 marks each, and Tooba Haider clinched second spot with 943 marks. All the three position-holders belonged to the same educational institute of Presentation Convent High School, Risalpur. Waleeja Nawaz of Moonlight Public School, Topi, got third position with 938 marks.
On this occasion, the board officials said that a total of 61,515 candidates appeared in the 10th grade examinations of which 52,394 were declared as successful with the pass percentage of 85.17. They said that a total of 72,093 students appeared in grade 9th examinations of which 37,968 were declared successful.
Provincial education minister Dr Sara Safdar was the chief guest on this occasion and distributed cash prizes among the position-holders. The prize distribution ceremony was held at the auditorium hall of Fazle Haq College, Mardan.
