HYDERABAD: Two coaches of the Karachi-bound Greenline train coming from Lahore derailed a few metres away from the Hyderabad station at 12.22pm on Saturday.

No one was injured and the train resumed its journey after two hours. Both the coaches were detached from the train and their passengers were accommodated in the other ones.

Pakistan Railways’ Karachi division commercial officer Ishaq Baloch later told Dawn that the derailed coaches were also sent to Karachi after necessary repairs.

The technical staff was looking into the reasons for the derailment, he said.

The tracks suffered little damage and negligible disruption occurred in the flow of rail traffic after the accident, railway officials at Karachi said.
