LAHORE: The Pakistan karate team will participate in the 15th Asian Karate Championships to be held in Amman, Jordan.

The team will fly for the event from Islamabad on Tuesday.

Seven players are participating in this championship, including Saadi Abbas (-75 Kg), Naseer Ahmed (-67 kg), Zafar Iqbal (-60 Kg), Muhammad Kashif (-55kg), Israr ul Haq (Individual Kata), Kusoom (-68 kg) and Quratul Ain (+ 68 Kg).

The team will be coached by Shah Muhammad while national referee Naseem Qureshi will also accompany the squad.

Saadi, who is also the Asian champion, is hoping to retain his title.

Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation Mohammad Jahangir said:”Saadi Abbas is a brilliant player and I hope he will win the Asian Championship and I am also expecting excellent performances from the rest of the players.”
