KHAR: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq on Tuesday claimed that Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal would form its governments in the centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after July 25 general elections.

“The alliance of five religious parties will form its governments in the centre and KP with the people’s support,” he made this claim while addressing a public meeting held in connection with the election campaign of his party candidates in NA-40 and NA-41 at the government high school ground in Khar.

He said that if voted to power the MMA would not disappoint the people of Bajaur like other political parties. He said that implementation of Islamic laws in the country and provision of equal rights and facilities were among top priorities of alliance. He said that they would make Pakistan a true Islamic welfare state.

Mr Haq said that MMA was in strong position in the entire country especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the people would vote for its candidates. He said that JI was the only political party in the country that always raised voice for the rights of tribal people. He said that his party had played a big role in Fata reforms in the tribal areas, saying the Fata-KP merger would start a new era of development and prosperity in the region.

The JI chief criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for not fulfilling its commitment of ‘change’ in the province during its government. He claimed that people would reject PTI in the coming elections. He said that working in the coalition government with PTI was Jamaat’s serious mistake and they would not repeat it again. He said that PTI had now become a party of corrupt politicians.

Party’s provincial chief Senator Mushtaq Ahmed, its candidates Sardar Khan and Qari Abdul Majeed also addressed the gathering and claimed that they would easily win both the NA seats in Bajaur in the July 25 elections.
