HYDERABAD: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) general secretary Ayaz Latif Palijo has said that GDA is compiling a list of corrupt government officers and officials who have been aiding and abetting corrupt ministers and it had warned deputy commissioners and senior superintendents of police to be impartial in election.

Mr Palijo, who is also president of Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT), said at a press conference along with Shia Ulema Council (SUC) district president Syed Juman Shah and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf candidate for NA-225 Khawand Bux Jahejo here on Wednesday that GDA would form the next Sindh government.

He thanked SUC for supporting GDA on PS-62 (Qasimabad) and said that Sindh was witnessing a great change. People were joining GDA on their own to raise voice against and eradicate corruption because they wanted to see Sindh become prosperous, he said.

He said the election would witness many upsets as several heavyweights would face downfall. Development works would be carried out in PS-62 and NA-225 after formation of GDA’s government and every penny of public money would be accounted for, he said.

Mr Palijo condemned suicide blast in Peshawar which killed barrister Haroon Bilour among others and said that terrorism and corruption were interlinked. Corruption weakened institutions, he said.

SUC leader said the council had directed party workers to support and vote for GDA and PTI candidates. The council supported only candidates of integrity and it wanted free and fair election, he said.

Mr Jahejo thanked SUC for supporting him and vowed to carry out development works in his constituency along with Palijo. People would not be left in the lurch, he said.

‘Faryal’s corruption damaged Sindh, PPP’

SUKKUR: GDA leader Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar has said that “massive corruption” by Faryal Talpur has not only damaged Sindh but also harmed reputation of Pakistan Peoples Party beyond repair.

Mr Mahar said at corner meetings in different places in Vas union council which falls in his constituency PS-22 on Wednesday that Syed Khursheed Shah divided Deh Baqaar for his vested interests and did nothing for people of the area except adding to their problems.

He said that it was in his blood to serve people. His forefathers had worked for the construction of Guddu Barrage and got it built but the “gang of Zardari and Faryal Talpur” had sucked Sindh dry through massive corruption.

He said that alliance of GDA and PTI for NA-206 (Sukkur) and PS-22 (Sukkur) would win election and serve people of their constituencies.
