LAHORE: The Punjab Local Government and Community Development Department on Saturday notified administrators of the metropolitan and municipal corporations and district councils following approval of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The administrators will perform functions of the local governments concerned during the period the heads of local governments remain under suspension in pursuance of ECP’s July 10 notification.

The Lahore division commissioner has been appointed as administrator of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, while the commissioners of the respective divisions have been appointed as administrators of the municipal corporations at divisional headquarters.

The additional deputy commissioners (revenue) of the respective districts have been appointed administrators of Sialkot and Gujrat municipal corporations and municipal committees at district headquarters.

The Murree assistant commissioner has been appointed administrator of the Murree municipal corporation, and ACs of respective tehsils as administrators of municipal committees other than district headquarters.

The deputy commissioners have been appointed administrators of the respective district councils and local government deputy directors of the respective districts as administrators of the union councils.
