Pagara asks supporters to use rivals’ vehicles, but vote for GDA

NAWABSHAH: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) chief Pir Pagara on Sunday claimed that people did not accept Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari as their leader and advised voters to use vehicles of their rivals but vote for the GDA on polling day.

Addressing a public gathering in Nawabshah on Sun­day, Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi III, popularly known as Pir Pagara (VIII), said no one from the Bhutto clan had been awarded a single ticket by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for July 25 elections.

He said that the “Zardari league” had only looted Sindh during 10 years of its rule which was evident from rampant joblessness in the province.

He that said Mr Bhutto-Zardari must ask his father why (poor) people had been turned into beggars through Benazir Income Support Card.

During the PPP rule, he said, Sindh growers were neither provided gunny bags (to enable them sell their wheat crop to government) nor given due prices of sugarcane. Instead, he alleged, the PPP government closed canals and made the agriculture land barren.

“Asif Ali Zardari said that he knew the names of killers of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto but he has never shared the names with anyone till today,” Pir Pagara said.

Praising law enforcement agencies, he said that law and order situation had impro­ved and peace had returned to the country due to the army and Rangers which were defenders of Pakistan.

He said that the chapter of Kalabagh dam had been closed in the Zia era and urged the people to contribute to Mohmand-Bhasha Dam Fund to avoid water shortage in future.

Former federal minister Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi said that his family had a strong relation with the people of Nawabshah who were tired of the PPP and would vote for a change.

GDA Secretary General Ayaz Latif Palijo said that the sapling of the GDA had grown into a strong tree under the leadership of Pir Pagara.

He said that the presence of thousands of people in the public gathering proved that the masses had shed fear of Mr Zardari.

GDA Candidate from NA-213 Sardar Sher Mohammed Rind said that the alliance would rid Nawabshah people of “Zardari league”.
