RAWALPINDI: After protests by PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been provided facilities in Adiala jail.

The Punjab government had accepted Nawaz Sharif’s request for B-Class facilities in the jail but Shahbaz Sharif claimed that his elder brother was not being provided facilities as per jail rules.

According to sources, following Shahbaz Sharif’s protest, the jail authorities provided a bed with mattress, a television set, newspaper and a servant to Nawaz Sharif.

Besides Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law retired Capt Safdar are also in Adiala jail, but in separate barracks.

Capt Safdar is also being provided the B-Class facilities to which he is entitled as he has served as a member of the National Assembly and was also a retired army officer.

However, Maryam Nawaz refused to avail of any facility provided under the B-Class.
