GUJRAT: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has vowed to strengthen national institutions and decrease tax rate to steer the country out of all ills.

He was speaking to a rather thin attendance of public at the Zameer Jaafari Stadium in Jhelum where most of the chairs remained empty on Wednesday.

The meeting was hosted by PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhary who is a party candidate from two seats, including NA-67 (Pind Daden Khan-Jallalpur Sharif-Lilla-Khewra) and PP-27 whereas his cousin Farrukh Altaf is a PTI candidate from NA-66 (Jhelum-Dina-Sohawa). In a statement later, Fawad said the poor attendance was due to security checks.

Imran Khan said the country was being run through borrowed money as national wealth was stolen by the corrupt.

“Tax reforms are a must for economic uplift and prices of daily use items will be brought down,” he said.

The PTI chief said that July 25 would be a historic day in Pakistan when people would vote for change. He called upon the participants of the gathering not to look at the candidates and just stamp the symbol of bat on the polling day to fulfill the agenda of reforms.
