TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that the country is in the grip of uncertainty as political leaders are being attacked and workers are desperate.

Addressing different meetings in Mayar Jandol, Kandaro and Talash on Thursday, Haq urged the youth to join hands with Mutahidda Majlas-i-Amal for their bright future.

The JI chief, who is also MMA candidate for NA-7, said it his party blocked introduction of co-education in schools in the province during the last five years. He said that the previous provincial government of PTI wanted to introduce co-education in schools.

JI chief shows anger over attacks on politicians

The functions were also addressed by MMA candidates for NA-6 Maulana Asadullah, candidate for PK-15 Muzafar Said, PK-16 Izazul Mulk Afkari, JI provincial leaders Maulana Ismail and Abdul Wasee and JUI-F leader Maulana Nabi Shah.

Siraj showed anger over attacks on political leaders during the election campaign and said it was leading the country towards anarchism and chaos. “Pakistan is facing internal and external threats. Its geographical and ideological boundaries are in danger,” he added.

He said that American lobbyists in the country wanted to impose western culture on the nation. He asked people to thwart their designs through their ballets on July, 25. The JI chief said that capitalists and feudal had hired Pakistani media for their campaign. He said that despite huge spending on elections by other parties, MMA would win majority of seats in elections.

He said the performance of the JI lawmakers in the previous parliament and provincial assembly was acknowledged by international institutions like World Bank and Transparency International.

“Developed and Islamic Pakistan is our agenda and we will get it through peaceful means,” said Siraj. He added that success of MMA would convey a good message throughout the Muslim world like Turkey.

WORKSHOP: The agriculture department on Thursday arranged a one-day workshop for local farmers to increase yield of tomato in the district.

Mohammad Irshad, the additional deputy commissioner; Murad Ali, the district director of agriculture; Shaukat Ali, the district planning and finance officer; and Sajjad, district fisheries officer, spoke on the occasion.

Agriculture experts informed the farmers about looking after the tomato crop and preventing it from fungus. They said that farmers could make better the quality and produce of vegetable if they opted for modern farming.
