The disgruntled political leaders in Tharparker, who were denied tickets by their respective parties, are contesting the upcoming general elections as independent candidates and the local elders believe they might cause hurdles for those contesting on the ticket of Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

Abdul Ghani Khoso, the former taluka nazim of Nagarparkar and close aide of Makhdoms of Hala is contesting from PS-55 against PPP’s Qasim Siraj Soomro.

Likewise, advocate Lala Lajpat Soomrani Bheel is contesting from PS-56 Islamkot against PPP's nominee Fakeer Mohammad Bilalani. Meanwhile, Sunita Parmar is also contesting for the same provincial seat as an independent candidate. Both these candidates are expected to cut the votes of PPP candidate.

Haimraj Bheel, another leader of Bheel community, is striving hard to garner all possible support of voters for the NA-222 seat against PPP’s Mahesh Kumar Malani and Arbab Zakaullah of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).

On PS-57 Diplo, former Sindh chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim is contesting against his nephew Arbab Lutfullah of PPP, while disgruntled PTI leader Pardeep Meghwar is contesting as an independent candidate. A nail-biting contest is expected between the uncle and his nephew, but Meghwar might cut their votes here.

Protest in Sanghar against tampering of postal ballot

Large number GDA supporters held a demonstration outside Sanghar Press Club and demanded the arrest of accused persons involved in the alleged tampering of postal ballots in Khipro.

Ali Ghulam Nizami, the candidate of GDA for PS-41, alleged that the personal assistant of Shazia Atta Marri was involved in rigging the postal ballots.

"PPP is doing pre-poll rigging by harassing the polling officials," Nizami claimed, demanding strict action against those who were trying to manipulate the polling process.
