KARACHI: An additional district and sessions judge (South) extended on Monday pre-arrest bail granted to four suspects in a case pertaining to death of a teenager caused by falling of carousel in the Askari Amusement Park.

The suspects — Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Ali, Syed Shafqat Hussain Jafferi and Khalil-ur-Rehman — have been booked over the allegations of negligence and unintentional murder of the teenage girl, Kashaf Samad, and injuring 24 others.

According to the prosecution, Kashaf died and the others sustained injuries when the rotating machine fell on the ground on July 15 at the Askari Amusement Park.

A case under Sections 319 (unintentional murder) and 337 (H-1) (causing hurt by a rash or negligent act) of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered on behalf of the state at the PIB police station.

Later, the suspects obtained interim pre-arrest bail from an additional district and sessions judge (South) against a surety bond of Rs100,000 each on July 19.

On Monday, the counsel for the suspects pleaded for extension in the interim bail arguing that they would not abscond. The judge extended their bail till July 27.
