Rangers have arrested five people for allegedly carrying ballot papers in Umerkot and handed them over to the police.

The chief polling agent of NA-220 candidate Shah Mehmood Qureshi has alleged that over 10,000 ballot papers were recovered from the possession of those arrested and accused PPP candidate Yousuf Talpur of attempting to rig the elections.

Talpur, on the other hand, has expressed his surprise over the "ability and behavior of security personnel, who could not differentiate between sample ballots and genuine ballots".

A confiscated ballot paper sent in by our reporter appears to be a sample but authorities are now investigating the matter and will give their final word.
