Bieber to voice Cupid in upcoming animated film

Justin Bieber has been cast as Cupid, the god of love and attraction, in an upcoming, untitled animated film from Mythos Studios. Bieber is also set to serve as an executive producer on the film, Deadline reported.

Bieber shared artwork from the film depicting Cupid with his bow on Twitter.

“When this project was brought to Justin, he instantly was excited to be a part of it. Fortunately for us, like Cupid, he knows a little bit about love and mischief,” Mythos Studios co-founder Scooter Braun said in a statement.

Braun previously worked with the pop star on the 2011 music documentary Never Say Never.

“Both myself and Scooter have a lifelong love of mythology and we are so excited to partner with Justin to bring the amazing, magical story of Cupid to the world,” said Mythos Studios co-founder David Maisel.

Selena Gomez’s birthday bash

When your best friend has her birthday, you are bound to do something special for her, and this is what Taylor Swift did for good friend Selena Gomez.

Swift took the time to bake a homemade cake for Gomez, complete with gooey layers of pink icing, a heart design and the message “Gomez or Go Home.” Though the two were not together on the day, as Swift was on tour, she posted a picture of the cake.

As for Selena, the pop star rang in her 26th birthday on July 22 and no expense was spared for the weekend long celebration in Selena’s new home of Newport Beach. She threw a fun-filled bash on a private yacht with only had her closest friends and a few family members on board for the Italian-themed pasta party.

David Bowie’s long lost first demo discovered

David Bowie’s first ever recording, long thought lost for good, has been discovered by a former bandmate in an old bread bin. The “I Never Dreamed” demo is expected to fetch £10,000 ($13,000) at auction in September.

Primarily a saxophonist, 16-year-old Bowie was chosen to sing on the demo with his first band, the Konrads, in 1963. The record label Decca and Rolling Stones manager Eric Easton turned it down, and by the time Bowie recordings came into demand, neither the band members nor Decca believed their recordings had survived. Konrads drummer David Hadfield eventually found a copy in his loft while moving house in the 1990s, keeping the discovery secret until announcing the auction.
