LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and former army chief retired Gen Raheel Sharif cast their votes in Lahore.

The chief justice cast his vote at a polling station established in a school of Barkat Market, Garden Town, falling in NA-130 from where Khwaja Ahmad Hassaan of PML-N and Shafqat Mahmood of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf contested the poll.

Talking to media, CJP Nisar expressed satisfaction over the polling arrangements and said he fulfilled his promise to ensure timely general election in the country.

Shahbaz Sharif cast his vote at a Model Town polling station in NA-130 along with his son Salman Shahbaz.

In a brief chat with media persons, the former chief minister vowed to transform the fate of the country with the power of people’s vote. He said the negative politics should end and democracy should be strengthened. Shamim Sharif, mother of Nawaz and Shahbaz, cast her vote in NA-124, the constituency of her grandson Hamza Shahbaz. She was allowed to enter the polling station in her car. Retired Gen Raheel Sharif cast his vote at a polling station in Lahore Cantonment.
