SHEIKHUPURA: The sewerage and drainage system collapsed in many areas of the city after the recent heavy rain and the tehsil municipal administration has not taken any remedial measures for redressal.

The rainwater had submerged many streets of Alvi Park, Muslim Gunj, Khalid Road, Ghang Road, Tariq Road, Rasool Nagar, Gloria Colony, Farooq Nagar Rehmanabad, Mujahid Nagar and Jindyala Road in rainwater which caused a great trouble for the citizens. Sewerage entered houses in many streets as well.

The issue was reportedly brought into the notice of the TMA administrator and other officials concerned but in vain.

The residents of the affected areas demanded the Lahore division commissioner and the Sheikhupura deputy commissioner take notice of the issue.
