HYDERABAD, June 6: The Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Junejo group) has decided to launch a protest movement from June 12 against granting citizenship to foreigners. The decision was taken at the two-day session of the central committee of the party at Goth Mohammad Khan Bagrani, Hyderabad district, which concluded on Sunday.

Party chairman Khaliq Junejo presided over the session.

The meeting decided to hold protest demonstrations in Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Naushahro Feroze and Karachi.

It said that attempts were being made to bring about demographic changes in Sindh and for that reason the MQM had approached Gen Musharraf for issuing NICs to all those illegal immigrants who had entered Pakistan till 1986 in violation of the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951 and 1952, the Sindh Permanent Residence Rules, 1971 and NADRA rules.

It said the demand for reopening the Khokhrapar route was also a chain of the same conspiracy. The meeting resolved that Pakistan which had always remained subservient to imperialist forces was being used by America in furtherance of its agenda.

The meeting alleged that the state was looting natural resources of Sindhis and Baloch and using the same on the development of Punjab.

It said Sindh and Balochistan had been converted into the colonies of Pakistan.

It condemned the role of the Sindh chief minister, the MQM and the allied parties in this regard.

The meeting condemned the weak case of the Sindh government on the NFC Award and said the impression that the Sindh finance minister was pursuing the NFC award vigorously was just an eyewash.

It alleged that giving importance to tribal lords and fundamentalists in Sindh were aimed at undermining the body polity of the Sindhi nation and to destroy the Sindhi identity.

The meeting called upon the people of Sindh to beware of the conspiracies and launch a united and consistent struggle for the rights of Sindh.

The meeting strongly condemned the arrest of Comrade Jam Saqi’s wife.
