The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed in the green after a volatile session on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index closing up 98 points.
The index peaked at 42,941 points and touched a low of 42,527 before closing at 42,810 points.
In all, 278.4 million shares worth Rs10.54 billion were traded today. Of the 361 scrips traded, 204 advanced, 140 declined and 17 remained unchanged.
The textile spinning sector dominated trading with 45.4m shares traded, followed by cement and chemical sectors with 39.7m and 28.2m shares traded respectively.

Pak International Airline Corp Ltd: 14.1m shares traded [+8.79pc];
Engro Polymer and Chemicals Ltd: 12.9m shares traded [+2.68pc];
Fauji Foods Limited: 12.9m shares traded [+4.54pc];
Pak Elektron Ltd: 12.7m shares traded [+4.07pc].
