ABBOTTABAD: Girls students of a private school chain clinched top three positions in the higher secondary school certificate examinations results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Abbotabad, here on Friday.
The students, mostly girls, of private Peace Group of Colleges bagged the top 20 positions.
Sabahat Safdar of Peace College, Haripur, became first by securing 1,016 marks, Laiba Behram of Peace College, Mansehra, with 1,015 marks stood second and the third spot was shared by Kashmala Mir of Peace College, Mansehra, and Easha Asif of Hazara Public College, Haripur, with 1,014 marks each.
The top three position holding girls belonged to the pre-medical group. In pre-medical group (boys), Hassan Ali Abbasi of Pakistan International Public School & College, Abbottabad, with 1,009 marks got first position, Syed Saad Ali of Abbottabad Public School & College with 993 marks got second and Muneeb ur Rehman of Peace College, Abbottabad, with 992 marks stood third.
In pre-engineering group (girls) Ayesha Rafi of Peace College Abbottabad with 1,004 marks got first position, Warda Zulhaj of Quaid-i-Azam College, Khalabat Township, with 993 marks got second position while third position was shared by Aiman Khan and Soma Safeer of Peace College, Haripur and Abbottabad branches, with 992 marks.
In pre-engineering (boys), first position was captured by Asad Ali of Government Postgraduate College No 1, Abbottabad, securing 1,001 marks, followed by Masaid Zeb of Tameer-i-Watan College, Abbottabad, with 999 marks and Mohammad Ali of Pakistan Scout Cadet College, Battrasi bagged third position.
In computer and general science group (girls), Maryam Iftikhar of Jinnah College, Haripur, with 983 marks got first position, Masra Bibi of Bright Vision College, Haripur, with 962 marks got second and Hina Javed of Jinnah College, Haripur, with 940 marks got third position.
In the same group for boys, Abdul Moaiz Khalid of Tameer-i-Watan College, Abbottabad, with 964 marks got first position, Mohammad Sohaib of Peace College, Haripur, with 956 marks got second position and Osama Sajid of Sir Syed College, Haripur, with 929 marks got third position.
POLL RESULTS STAYED: Peshawar High Court, Abbottabad circuit bench, has stayed the notification of election results of PK-38 seat.
Mohammad Arshad Awan of PML-N had moved the application, demanding recounting.
The court fixed August 7 as the next date for hearing.
Qalandar Khan Mr Lodhi of PTI had won the seat by grabbing 29,734 votes against 26,437 votes of Mr Awan.
In another development, the Islamabad High Court has accepted the application of Ali Asghar Khan of PTI for recounting on the NA-15, Abbottabad-1. Murtaza Javed Abbasi of PML-N had won seat.
