KOHAT: The police have finalised a comprehensive security plan for Independence Day, with putting ban on hooting by motorcyclists and driving bikes without silencers.

A statement issued here on Sunday said police personnel had been deployed at all the sensitive places, bazaars and police buildings and strict checking of vehicles and people was being carried at all the exit and entry points of the district.

The statement said a function would be organised at the police lines on the Independence Day whereas flags would be hoisted at all the police stations. The quick response force, all police stations and traffic police have been asked to launch crackdown on motorcyclists doing a wheelie.

All the buildings of police have been illuminated and special functions would be held at all police stations to celebrate the day.
