Polish tourist's 'Kiki challenge' on PIA aircraft lands national flag carrier in trouble with NAB

The already under criticism Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) faced another set back on Monday when the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took notice of a promotional video made by the airline in collaboration with a Polish tourist in connection with the Independence Day celebrations on an aircraft of the national flag carrier.
The bureau believed that the woman not only disgraced the national flag by wrapping it around her body but also violated the security codes of the national airlines and the airport.
“We want to know that who allowed the woman to go into an empty aircraft and dance at the airport,” the NAB spokesman told Dawn.
He said the NAB will officially send a letter to the PIA on August 15 to seek its management’s point of view on the issue. “We want to ascertain that who had permitted the women to freely move into a highly-secured runway of the airport.”
The national flag carrier has been criticized for a long for going into ample losses.
Earlier in the day, a video went viral on social media in which PIA had intended to celebrate August 14 in a new style.
In that video, Polish tourist Eva Bianka Zubeck performed the popular ‘Kiki Challenge’ while holding the national flag.
The issue escalated quickly, so much that Zubeck had to issue a clarification within hours of posting the said video.
The NAB ordered probe against the PIA for allegedly disgracing the flag and misuse of the authority.
NAB Chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal ordered probe against those who allowed the woman to enter the runway and the plane.
It is pertinent to mention that the national flag carrier had collaborated with the Polish woman for making the Independence Day video.

While I understand that dancing in an area designated as highly secured cannot be permitted, how is wearing national flag dishonoring the nation? NAB should not waste its time on trivial matters like this and pursue genuine cases, where nation is actually being harmed through corruption. We don't need government to protect our sense of honor as this is not something tangible and everyone draws line differently.

Loved the Kiki Challenge video! I think they should focus on improving the management and maintenance of aircraft as well as hiring more strict air hostesses to keep the rowdy passengers ( who otherwise behave properly on foreign airlines) in check once they are on PIA.

I have been following her vlogs regarding Pakistan for a couple of weeks on Youtube and trust me she is completely a down to earth person. She has a wonderful personality and she is trying her best to portray Pakistan as a beautiful and peace-loving country to the outside world. Wrapping flags around the body is not scrabous .If a foreigner is promoting a Positive image of Pakistan so we should applaud this despite of criticising.The fear of terrorism is being prevailed by beauty of Pakistan in the heads of foreigners – it's really an impeccable change.

I have been following her vlogs regarding Pakistan for a couple of weeks on Youtube and trust me she is completely a down to earth person. She has a wonderful personality and she is trying her best to portray Pakistan as a beautiful and peace-loving country to the outside world. I honestly believe that NAB's notice and action against this girl or PIA is completely unnecessary and unjust. In my opinion, she has done nothing that much offensive for NAB to take such an action.

Folks who are questioning NAB's involvement; it is an accountability authority and the case is about national accountability since it involves the national flag and conduct of national airline. NAB is not only about money related issues, mainly it is for those corruption, money laundry etc but not limited to. It is about accountability that for sure we all know PIA is not exactly known for - ACCOUNTABLITY !!

All over the world people wrap flags of their country around their body during celebrations, how can this be a vulgar thing, she clearly said it was a promotional video for Pakistan tourism and she done it out of love for Pakistan. She even wore shalwar kameez in Pakistan colours. NAB you are disgustingly unprofessional.
