ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Thursday named its leader Shah Farman as the next governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It also announced that party chairman Imran Khan would announce the federal cabinet two or three days after getting elected as the country’s 22nd prime minister on Friday.

Later, the KP governor-designate Shah Farman at a joint press conference with party spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said that he would not live in the Governor House, rather Imran Khan will take a decision in this regard. He also avowed that he would not avail official protocol but would lead a simple life.

Mr Farman, who had served as a provincial minister in the last PTI-led provincial government, said that he will try his best to take all political parties, including the opposition on board.

He said that tribal areas —the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) — would remain tax free till peace and stability was restored there.

The governor-designate said he would focus on the improvement of the agriculture and energy sectors in the province.

Fawad Chaudhry said that Imran Khan would win the election of prime minister comfortably, and would announce his cabinet within two or three days.
