DADU: A head-on collision involving a passenger van and a tractor-driven trolley left four people dead and 20 others injured at a section of the Indus Highway on Monday.

According to the police, the two vehicles collided in Aliabad Town (a housing society), located at the Jamshoro-Manjhand section of the highway, early in the morning.

The victims were taken to the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) hospital, Jamshoro.

Two of the four deceased were identified as Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Mithal Gadehi. The other two were yet to be identified.

Doctors at the hospital said that the condition of 11 other victims was serious. They were Mohammad Ayub, Azhar Ali, Shahnawaz, Nadir Ali, Zulfiqar, Asad, Ashfaq, Jawad Ali, Zahid Ali, Sanaullah, Ikhtiar and Qutubuddin.

In another accident, 20 people were injured when a Larkana-bound passenger van crashed into the wall of Amri bridge. Some of the victims were taken to the LUMHS hospital in Jamshoro and some others to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital for treatment.
