LAHORE: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s mother Shamim Begum says her son has never plundered national wealth as he even used to take meals sent from home when he became prime minister for the first time in 1990s.
In an interview with a foreign radio channel, Shamim Begum wondered why all the people were after her son as he “neither did commit any corruption nor plundered the public money. My son is facing false (corruption) allegations.”
She said that Nawaz Sharif’s father (late Mian Muhammad Sharif) would never let him have food at state expenses and that his parents used to give money to Nawaz Sharif each month whenever he came into power.
Regarding Nawaz Sharif’s relations with his ailing wife Kulsoom, she said that they enjoyed a superb relationship as they never argued with each other on any issue. “Kulsoom has been very obedient while her husband is also a genteel person.”

Every mother thinks so and has similar feelings for her children.
Even if Nawaz Sharif and his predecessors did not do any wrong, the number of servants (over 500) serving them and 22 bullet proof cars being under their use as leaders of a poor nation having per capita income of just around 1000 $, is an unpardonable crime. This revelation on servants and vehicles by IK is just tip of the mammoth ice berg. I am not sure if other such facts will be made public.

With due respect to Main Begum, it is folly for parents (or children) to be trotted out to make public comments about their political relatives. It serves only to invite uncomfortable rejoinders. In this case, the mother's comments reveal two salient points: her son ate home cooked meals (ho hum!), and that her daughter-in-law has been an "obedient" wife. Not sure either revelation speaks to the core issue of his alleged corruption, which of course, any mother would dispute without being in any position to really know what was happening outside the confines of her four walls.

Not east for mother to accept the change of fate, but it is a tradition and a ritual in Pakistan which needs to be fulfilled. From Jail to PM or President house and vice versa. Secondly, to get to top office in Pakistan the person has to meet two qualifying criterions, one : she/he must have some sort of London connection (staying in London) for a considerable period of time and number two, must have spent some time in a jail inside Pakistan. So,for this time Nawaz is sitting out in jail to give company to his daughter, the aspirant of top office who has
qualified the first criteria and need to add the second to her portfolio.
Marium will then have to pave way for another undergoing grooming young lady Malala to make her in-roads.

I have seen in my life 99.99% mothers never accepted their sons mistakes, even in my village I have seen more then 100 complaints against the sons but their mothers never accepted that. One day one guy was arrested by villagers while stealing goods from shop but her mother was not ready to accept that. You are also one of those mother. Your son is thief but you are not ready to accept that.

If the testimony of mothers was given much weight, no criminal would ever be convicted. Imran khan is not my elected prime minister but he has the confidence of majority so I would give him chance to prove his worth and same thing I wished for any party before that except one and no one did anything about it either.
