TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman gave birth to a baby on a bench outside the emergency ward of Gojra THQ hospital on Tuesday.

Reports said Waseem Abbas of Chak 161-GB took his wife Shazia Bibi for delivery to rural health centre at Moongi Adda from where she was referred to Gojra THQ hospital.

In emergency ward at Gojra THQ hospital, doctors asked Waseem Abbas to arrange blood immediately for C-section of his wife but he could not do so.

In the meantime, doctors referred her to Faisalabad Allied hospital. The couple was worrying about the situation sitting on a bench outside the emergency ward when the woman gave birth to baby [on the bench].

After receipt of information, Deputy District Officer Dr Muhammad Asghar Sheikh reached the hospital and assured Waseem Abbas of action against the hospital staff for not providing medical facility.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist was killed and a cyclist injured in a road accident at Gojra on Tuesday.

Police said motorcyclist Haji Munawar Hussain of Saman Zar Colony was on his way home when he collided with cyclist Yaqoob near Chak 241 GB on Gojra-Khidderwala Road as a result both received injuries.
