CHARSADDA: Two minor girls were killed when wall of a house fall on them in Nesata area here on Tuesday.

Two children Reshma (7) daughter of Khan Zeb and Hassena (10) daughter of Bulbul were passing through the street when boundary wall of a house fell on them.

They were buried alive under the rubble. The people rushed to the spot and retrieved both the children and shifted them to a hospital in Peshawar.

However, they succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

They were later buried in their ancestral graveyard amid moving scenes. A large number of people attended the funeral.

Meanwhile, the district council Charsadda passed the fiscal year 2018-19 budget unanimously here on Tuesday with a total outlay of Rs7279.748 million including developmental and non-developmental expenditures.

The district council session was held at district council hall Charsadda with its convener naib nazim Musaweer Shah Durrani in the chair.

The council members also came down hard on Pesco authorities for unscheduled and prolonged power loadshedding ahead of Eidul Azha. They also criticised the district account office and other departments for their poor performance.

The members also staged a walkout in protest against publication of blasphemous caricatures in Netherlands.
