TAXILA: The University of Wah on Tuesday launched its radio station - FM 101.8 to promote educational and literary activities in twin cities of Taxila and Wah, and its surrounding areas.

Chairman, Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), Lt Gen Sadiq Ali inaugurated the radio station, in the presence of POF officials, faculty members and varsity administration.

Vice Chancellor Prof Khaliq Ur Rehman Shad said the radio station had been launched to reach out to people living in Wah and its surroundings, adding that this non-commercial radio station would broadcast variety of educational programmes, besides airing programmes for creating civic sense, enhancing social awareness and educating the audience about their social responsibilities. The forum will also be accessible to POF for airing social awareness programmes.
