SIALKOT: Police on Thursday registered a case against the contractor of under-construction Sialkot-Lahore Motorway for not affixing night reflectors at the road diversions and blocking main Daska-Sialkot Road near Raajokey by keeping material meant for the construction of a flyover of the project.

Daska S2addar police have registered the case (403/2018) on the report of ASI Muhammad Shahbaz against contractor/project manager Abdul Sattar under sections 322 and 341 of PPC.

According to the FIR, the project manager had already been asked to display night reflectors on the road diversions, dividers and remove construction material and machinery from the road.

The FIR said owing to non-availability of the night reflectors, a Faisalabad-based woman, Naziran Bibi, was killed in an accident there two days ago.

On Aug 24, 2018, it said, Roshan Mazhar, Hassan Faisal, Hassam Azmat and Muazzam Bashir of Gujranwala were killed and two youngsters Shah Zaib and Sharjeel injured when their car hit road dividers at Raajokey-Daska, the spot of under-construction flyover. Police said the accident took place because of absence of night reflectors.
