MQM-P delegation meets PM Khan, reminds him of Karachi promises

A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders on Friday called on Prime Minster Imran Khan at the PM's Office.
The delegation was led by the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication and MQM Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. He was accompanied by Law Minister Farogh Naseem, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar, and party leaders Nasreen Jalil and Aminul Haq.
According to a media release from the PM’s Office, the two sides discussed the prevailing political situation in the country, particularly in Sindh.
The delegation also reminded the prime minister about the speech he had made in Karachi and his promises to its citizens.
The MQM had been promised a development package for Karachi in exchange for supporting the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in forming the federal government.
Later in the day, the prime minister held a separate meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Naeemul Haq was also present for the meeting, in which PM Khan expressed his concerns over the lack of basic facilities in many parts of Karachi.
The prime minister also acknowledged that Karachi plays a major role in the country's economic development and stability.
The prime minister assured the Sindh governor that the PTI government would provide assistance and cooperation to strengthen peace in Karachi and resolve the city’s various issues.

before release of funds for the development for karachi, PM must order for constitution of a committee to ensure proper and judicious use of the funds for which purpose it released as in past released funds were doled out by the party having strong influence in the city on linguistic basis. in committee comprising of neutral including judge of high court may be included to make more the transparent the matter,

If project is made in Islamabad with the presence and consent of MQM, it will work, but the money will NOT be distributed though anyone else, it must be through Federal Government, because it is by the Federal Government, none from Sindh Government and any other party. Government of Pakistan, should take responsibility, otherwise all funds will go to London or Bilawal House or Muraad Ali House, as previously.

I and most karachities have high hopes that PTI will somehow find solutions to issues in Karachi and will try their best to solve them and will pinpoint all hinderances they will get from the Sindh govt. in this regard and make them public.

As a Karachiate I hope that the federal package Karachi will receive will be properly used by the local government in Karachi.
I do believe Imran will fulfill his promise by giving this package.
Let's see if the local government is going to use it properly. It is a test for themand the people of Karachi need to feel the result.

Reviving the economy of Karachi should be the top priority, as it is the economic engine of Pakistan; Karachi is a mini Pakistan, and if Karachi grows, Pakistan grows. Unfortunately, Waderas and mafias in Karachi have inhibited growth in Karachi and as a result today’s Karachi resembles a Mohenjodaro. Imran Khan should empower the people of Karachi to stimulate economic growth and make Karachi a functional city.
