LAHORE: In the first major bureaucracy reshuffle since the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government took charge, the federal government has transferred three BS-21 and 14 BS-20 senior bureaucrats belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) from Punjab.

Only two BS-21 and four BS-20 PAS officers’ services have been placed at the disposal of the Punjab government.

Punjab was already facing a shortage of senior officers as posts of administrative secretaries of different departments were lying vacant as the officials had joined training courses.

According to the federal government notification, Home Secretary retired Capt Naseem Nawaz (BS-21) is transferred from Punjab and his services have been placed at the disposal of the Sindh government.

Multan Commissioner Nadeem Irshad Kayani (BS-21) has been transferred from Punjab and placed at the disposal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Muhammad Asad Islam Mahni (BS-21 PAS) has also been transferred from Punjab and his services placed at the disposal of the Sindh government.

As many as six BS-20 bureaucrats – Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Khaqan Babar, Nabeel Javed, Syed Ali Murtaza, Khalid Saleem and Dr Nasir Iqbal Malik have been transferred from Punjab and their services placed at the disposal of the Sindh government.

Similarly, three officials Muhammad Haroon-ur-Rafique, Ali Bahadur Qazi and Nadeem-ur-Rehman were transferred from Punjab and their services placed at the disposal of the KP government.

Two officials – Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha as well as Capt (retired) Saif Anjum were transferred and their services placed at the disposal of Balochistan government.

Muhammad Ajmal Khan, a BS-21 official, as well as Nasir Javed and Capt (retired) Asadullah Khan were transferred from Punjab and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

The federal government has transferred two BS-21 officials from Sindh – Muhammad Suhail Rajput and Syed Asif Hyder Shah – and placed their services at the disposal of Punjab government.

Similarly, two BS-20 officials from Sindh – Syed Ali Mumtaz Zaidi and Akram Ali Khowaja – and placed their services at the disposal of Punjab government.

Two BS-20 officials from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Muhammad Fakhare Alam Irfan and Flt. Lt. (retired) Kamran Rehman Khan were transferred and their services were placed at the disposal of Punjab government.
