RAWALPINDI: A British national of Pakistani origin was held by the Airport Security Force (ASF) allegedly for carrying weapon at Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) on Saturday.

According to sources, the ASF staffers were checking the luggage of passengers in routine when they spotted a 30 bore pistol and 12 bullets in the baggage of the passenger.

They arrested the passenger and shifted him to a counter for further investigation.

The passenger was to travel to Birmingham on PK-791, they said.

Later, the ASF handed over the accused to the local police who have registered a case against him, they said.

Separately, Kallar Syedan police claimed to have arrested three robbers from Chabotra and recovered weapons from their possession.

Police said that three pistols and bullets were also recovered from the suspected robbers.
