OKARA: The non-availability of stamp papers across the district is causing a great deal of inconvenience for the people.
The stamp papers of Rs50 and Rs100 denominations are not available with the scribes for long. The low-priced stamp papers are attached with domiciles, gas, electricity, telephone, student admission related files. At present, students seeking admissions to various colleges after matriculation can be seen with their parents at makeshift stalls of scribes in search of stamp papers.
Some three weeks back, Deputy Commissioner Rizwan Nazir had held meetings with the officials of the district treasury and scribes but there was no solution.
A few days back, a number of scribes took out a rally and also called on the deputy commissioner at his office, briefing him about the situation but the shortage of stamp papers persisted.
