Social media has brought with it a wave of emojis. They are cute and they add into our expressions of happiness, sadness, disgust and whatever mood we are in. It is not wrong to say that most of us have our own favourite emoji printed on a cushion, cup or various other small or big items that we use daily.
Therefore, today’s craft is also related to emoji — a paper-quilled emoji keychain, which you can carry wherever you go.
Things you need:
Quilling yellow paper strips, around 25 (you can make your own by cutting .5cm wide strips from A-4-sized yellow paper).
Craft glue
Quilling pen
Black marker (to make the face)
Chain from a key-ring (use discarded or unused chain from a key ring)
Directions:
Take yellow strips and stick one strip to the other (stick all 25 strips to make it one long paper strip), picture 2.
Place one end of the strip to the quilling pen or needle, and make a round coil, picture 3.
When you reach the desired width of the coil, leave some part of the strip, as shown in the pictures 4 and 5; (leave it aside).
Take six-inches long piece of strip and roll it on the quilling pen to make a small coil, pictures, 6 and 7.
Stick this small coil on top of the coil you just made, pictures 8 and 9:
Insert the chain in the small coil, picture 10.
Apply craft glue or quilling shiner (it will give shine and keep the coil intact, also once applied it will be invisible), pictures 11 and 12.
Make emoji faces, the ones you want, picture 13.
Note: 25 yellow strips make two-inch wide coil (you can use more if you want bigger)
