LARKANA: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Larkana on Thursday announced the results of Higher Secondary Certificate Part-II (class-XII) annual examination-2018 of pre-medical, pre-engineering, humanities and commerce groups.
Pre-medical
Ms Taha Batool of Government Girls College Larkana stood first with 975 marks, Dariush Magsi of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) secured the second position with 974 marks while the third position was shared by Syed Uzair Abbas Shah of Government Degree College Larkana and Ms Aaiza Shaikh of Government Girls College with 973 marks.
According to data released by the BISE controller of examinations, of the 18,832 candidates appearing in the exam, only 1,919 could clinch A-1 grade while 2,264 were placed in A-grade.
Some 6,117 passed in B-grade; 3,962 in C-grade; 426 in D-grade and only 67 in E-grade. The result of 640 candidates was withheld on the charges of using unfair means in the examination. The total pass percentage remained 78.35, the announcement said.
Pre-engineering
The first position went to Syed Aatif Ali Shah of C & S Government Degree College Shikarpur with 976 marks; Ms Muqdas Ali Qadri of Government Girls College Larkana secured the second position with 975 marks while Zaryab Khan Aghani of Government Degree College Larkana stood third with 974 marks.
Some 12,572 students appeared in this group examinations and only 1,126 secured A-1 grade. The overall pass percentage was assessed at 76.89 whereas 1,465 obtained A-grade; 3,689 B-grade; 2,924 C-grade, 459 D-grade and 3 E-grade.
The result of 731 was withheld on the pretext of cheating in the examination.
Humanities
In this group, Sara Khalid Channa of Government Girls College Larkana stood first with 792 marks, Fayyaz Hussain Noonari of Government (boys) Higher Secondary School Badah stood second with 781 while Ms Zahida Junejo of Government Higher Secondary School Dhamrah secured the third position with 779 marks.
Of the 3,039 candidates appearing in the examination, no one could clinch A-1 grade and only 19 were passed in A-grade, 341 in B-grade, 1,178 in C-grade, 668 in D-grade and in 42 E-grade.
Commerce
Shahbaz Hussain Abbasi of Government Arts and Commerce College Larkana stood first with 935 marks, Hassnain Ali Soomro of SZABIST Larkana second with 933 marks while Ms Qurat-ul-Ain Qazi of Government Arts and Commerce College Larkana got the third position with 932 marks.
In commerce group, 380 students had appeared and of them only eight secured A-1 grade while 33 were placed in A-grade, 86 in B-grade, 113 in C-grade, 45 in D-grade and only 1 in E-grade.
