The Embassy of Indonesia organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to commemorate the 73rd Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, drawing many members of the diplomatic corps, their family members and government officials to donate blood and support the work of PRCS.
Director General (EAP), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Samina Mehtab was the chief guest at the event and appreciated the Indonesian embassy’s efforts. She and her daughters donated blood and she said: “Saving one life is equal to saving all of mankind and such events raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations to ensure that safe blood is available for patients in need.” Ambassador of Indonesia Iwan Amri and his wife also donated blood.
The ambassadors and diplomats of the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Australia, the Philippines, Jordan, Malaysia and others participated as did the wife of the Malaysian ambassador and daughter of the Australian high commissioner, helping the PRCS reach its target of 1.5 million bags annually.
