CHITRAL: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar who reached Chitral on a three-day private visit with his family on Wednesday night, could not visit Golen valley and a number of historical places scheduled for Thursday due to his illness.

The visit of the famous Shandur Lake situated on the border of Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan at an altitude of 10,230 feet above sea level and 150km from here and the Kalash valley of Bumburate were on his schedule for the second and third day of his tour.

A physician visiting the chief justice in Chitral Scouts’s officer mess told this correspondent that he was suffering from fever due to chest infection and was not able to carry on his visit and travel to the distant places of Shandur and Bumburate valley.

The doctor said that the top judge was convalescing, but he was not in a position to travel long distance by road and that he had advised him to travel back to Islamabad by plane which was available on Friday (today).

The DHQ hospital had been cleaned thoroughly anticipating the CJP’s surprise visit and such was the condition of different other public places which were also cleaned. On Thursday, he was to visit Chitral Museum, Shahi Qala and mosque and Shaheed Osama Park where he was to plant a sapling.
